Following the U.S. strikes in Israel’s war on Iran, ICE has escalated raids targeting Iranian nationals—with at least 670 in detention and thousands more at risk. These arrests are not based on national security threats, but on discriminatory profiling—tearing apart families, targeting asylum seekers, and reviving the darkest chapters of American history.
Like the thousands of people of all backgrounds unjustly caught up in ICE’s deportation machine, Iranian Americans being wrongly targeted by ICE are a critical part of our communities. They are students, parents, asylum seekers, and longtime residents pursuing the American dream. Take the case of Reza Zavvar, long-time resident of Maryland, who was abruptly detained by ICE on June 28, 2025 while walking his dog. He was transferred to Texas and now faces deportation to a third country—a place where he has no legal status, no community, and no safety net.
We must demand that Congress condemn this targeting, investigate ICE’s conduct, and take urgent action to protect Iranian Americans and all immigrant communities.

This racial profiling is unconstitutional, dangerous, and echoes shameful chapters in our history. I urge [Rep./Sen. ___] to:
- Publicly condemn ICE’s targeting of Iranians & all other communities unjustly targeted
- Call for investigations into these raids and call for the unjust to be immediately released
- Support legislation like the Protecting Sensitive Locations Act, No Secret Police Act, and Neighbors Not Enemies Act
- Oppose further funding increases for ICE, which is hurting all of our communities, not just Iranians
