Amendment #813 to S.2226, the FY24 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), is scheduled for a vote on Tuesday, July 25th, 2023. The amendment seeks to prohibit agricultural real-estate transactions for Iranian nationals and legal visa-holders, which is a clear violation of civil rights. National heritage cannot be grounds for property discrimination in the United States. We must take a strong stand against all cases of xenophobia.

In a disturbing trend, discriminatory state-level bills have been proposed and even passed to restrict the right of Iranian and other immigrants to purchase property based on their national heritage. Urge your Representative in Congress to cosponsor the Preemption of Real Property Discrimination Act (H.R. 3697) to prevent these discriminatory laws from taking effect.
