Some folks have come to us concerned about reports of the Israeli Defense Force’s plans for a strike on Iran without US assistance. (See here, here and here.)
My opinion is this: militaries plan for contingencies. That’s all this is. At most, the leak of this particular contingency plan was meant to send a message to President-elect Obama that Israel is serious about preventing an Iranian nuclear weapon. But as Obama has made clear, he is serious too.
