This is the beginning of a nationwide movement to stop the illegal war on Iran—uniting people in the streets, organizing in and in front of congressional offices, and building the political power to force an end to war, escalation, sanctions, and the wider “forever war” agenda.
Beginning with a nationwide October 20, 2026 day of action at congressional district offices around the country, we will mobilize in our communities, demand that Congress stop all funding for the war, uphold its war powers, investigate all crimes committed with our tax dollars, and support a peace deal to end this war immediately.

Congressional Demands
The war against Iran is unauthorized, devastating, and dangerous. Congress has both the constitutional authority and the responsibility to stop it. We are calling on every member of Congress to take the following actions:
I. Cut off funding for the war
Pledge to oppose any defense appropriation or authorization that does not end U.S. participation in the war against Iran. Congress must use the power of the purse to stop an unauthorized war that has cost civilian lives, put U.S. service members at risk, damaged civilian infrastructure, and deepened economic hardship in the United States and around the world.
II. Enforce the Iran War Powers Resolutions
Release a statement affirming that the Iran War Powers Resolutions are legally binding, and support future war-powers measures. The Constitution gives Congress—not any one president—the authority to initiate war. Members of Congress must use their positions to enforce the direction already given to terminate unauthorized hostilities.
III. Demand accountability for the Minab Elementary School bombing
Publicly call for the full release of the Department of Defense investigation into the U.S. bombing of Minab Elementary School, which reportedly killed 120 children as well as teachers and staff AND investigate the bombing of the civilian wedding party in Kuhestak . The public deserves a full accounting, and the victims’ families deserve truth and accountability.

IV. Support diplomacy, sanctions relief, and a peace agreement to End the War!
Publicly call for and support a peace agreement that includes lifting sanctions and unfreezing assets. Economic relief is essential to diplomacy, verifiable nuclear concessions, and lasting de-escalation. U.S. policy must not intensify humanitarian harm or undermine the possibility of peace.

Join the coalition for peace, justice, and an end to forever war
Our October 20th Nationwide Rally is not an endpoint—it is an organizing step toward a larger movement. The United for a Just Peace Coalition is a movement bringing together people and organizations committed to ending U.S. wars of aggression, opposing militarism abroad and at home, and building solidarity among all communities harmed by the politics of permanent war. We invite you to join our coalition against forever wars today.
NIAC, alongside Action Corps, CODEPINK, and the Fellowship of Reconciliation (FOR) are working to build this coalition and NIAC is temporarily hosting this coalition on our website – as this coalition grows, organizers will work to make this an independent coalition to stop the forever wars.
