#SanctionsStory: The Human Impact of Sanctions on Iran

Many Iranian Americans worry daily about the wellbeing of their loved ones back in Iran, who are struggling to feed their families, combat COVID, and get live-saving medication. Growing up in the U.S. with an Iranian father and an Argentine mother, Abtahi herself is a reflection of the increasingly diverse Iranian diaspora. A filmmaker and writer, Abtahi weaves together a story that is not only fun to read, but is also a moving coming of age story fit for our times.

NIAC Urges Reconsideration of Turing Award to Professor with History of Anti-Iranian Xenophobia

NIAC is deeply disappointed to learn this prestigious award has gone to someone with a public record of xenophobic comments against Iranians and who has openly bragged that he would abuse the power of his position to discriminate against Iranian students. We have heard from many Iranian Americans in tech who are appalled that ACM would convey this honor and provide this platform to someone who has so blatantly sought to demonize our community and heritage.
